Walking Tetrahedrons

Walking Tetrahedrons is an experiment adapting random walks to non-tessellating geometry. The images below each started with a single tetrahedron and were expanded by iteratively iteratively adding a new tetrahedron to a random face on the previous. Renders were made in Blender3D and post-process colored. I hope to some day create 3D-printed sculptures using the unique geometry generated by this algorithm.
